Dubai Scene Largest. Tallest. Biggest. Dubai does everything to the extreme, standing out for its uber-modern design in a historically conservative country. The soaring skyscrapers, palm-shaped islands, and golden beaches, paired with vibrant nightlife, luxury shopping, and world-class dining, make the city a sight to behold and be explored. Keep in mind that the United Arab Emirates is a Muslim country and while visitors are not expected to follow religious dress codes, they should nonetheless dress with respect for local customs. Skirts and trousers should be knee-length or longer, and women should avoid tight-fitting clothes. Cleavage, midriff and upper arms should be covered. Shorts are only allowed on the beach and while bikinis are permitted, topless sunbathing is prohibited. During the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, eating and drinking in public is strictly forbidden. However, most hotels and clubs will serve food and beverages to foreigners. Over Ramadan, visitors should consider dressing extra conservatively outdoors.

Climate: Dubai is hot most of the year. The small size of the UAE means that climate changes are virtually non-existent in this country, except for a slight temperature difference between the cities, which are all clustered on the coast, and the interior Land, which is desert. The most pleasant season, which can be described as winter, is between October and April where the weather is fairly mild. During this time it can be as low as 10°C on the coolest mornings, but reach 28°C by the afternoon. It can even rain sometimes during this season but this is sporadic as the country knows only about 10 days of rain over a full year. On the other hand, from June to September, the summer season is torrid, with temperatures between 30 and 40°C, and sometimes exceeding 50°C.
